AetherSX2 (PS2)

AetherSX2 is a free closed-source PlayStation 2 emulator that started as a mobile port of the popular PCSX2.  This emulator adds ARM JIT and Vulkan renderer and is available mainly for Android devices, but Linux and Mac versions are also available. Just dump your favorite PS2 game disc on your phone and start playing.

Supported image formats:

For Android devices, AetherSX2 requires at least a Snapdragon 845 or an equivalent powerful processor to be able to play games correctly. Devices with Andreno GPUs are recommended over Mali and PowerVR GPUs. The latter GPUs lack the dual-source blending drivers required for a stable performance.

For Linux and Mac devices, it is worth noting that AetherSX2 does not work on a normal x86-based system. All PC versions are still in their early stages with less support for Mac builds. This PS2 emulator uses the current version of PCSX2 except for some minor parts. To be compliant with the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), the developer Tahlreth plans to rewrite the GPL code.
