DobieStation (PS2)

DobieStation is a promising yet relatively young PS2 emulator developed by PSI-Rockin. This open-source emulator offers fast and accurate emulation and an easy-to-use PC port with plans for an optimized Android port. This software was tested to work on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms using Cmake, Qmake, Visual Studio, or similar.

As of 2022, it can already play a large portion of the PS2's game library (more than 75% of commercial PS2 games). Playable games include popular titles like Final Fantasy X, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, and Shadow of the Colossus.

DobieStation has a high standard for its compatibility rate, and a strict focus on accuracy. However, this software is noticeably slower than mainstream emulators like Play! and PCSX2. If you wish to test the emulator, you can join their Discord server and jump into the development and game testing. Compatibility with free homebrew games is not guaranteed, but a lot of demos have already been tested to work. Although the software is still in early development, we believe that this emulator is worth keeping an eye on.
