Orbum (PS2)

Orbum is a relatively young PlayStation 2 emulator based on the PCSX2's codebase. This promising emulator is developed by Marco Satti, Hoe Hao Cheng, and Zer0xFF, and is originally a fork from another project of the same name by marco9999.

Although this emulator is based on the popular PCSX2, it was completely rewritten from scratch. As of the last update, this open-source emulator is not yet ready for commercial games and casual gaming, rather it is only useful to developers who are undertaking similar projects, or want to contribute. Although some commercial games are able to work with a little tweaking, performance and compatibility are still pretty low.

As of 2019, the project status is as follows:

• Focusing on the GIF/VU's/VIF
• Started working on VIFs, VUs, SPU2, SIO, SIO2, and more
• IPU and GSCore have not yet been touched
• Everything else is done

The project's source file is provided but you'll need CMake to build the file and try out the software. If you wish to contribute to the development of Orbum, don't hesitate to reach out.
