JPCSP (PSP)

The JPCSP was originally developed by a small team of developers led by Hykem and gid15 in 2008. It is the only stable PSP emulator that runs using JRE and thus requires it to be installed. Despite the clear limitations of Java (and its reputation for being slow), the newest Java versions are noted to be almost as fast as C - allowing for more stable emulations.

Because it's written entirely on Java, many neophyte developers and experienced coders find it interesting - learning how it works, and improving the project throughout the years. JPCSP was never intended to rival the popular PPSSPP. In fact, the developer's goal is to use the Java environment to study and understand the PSP's inner workings and help other aspiring developers by communicating and contributing with each other along the way.
