Developed by Mike Pavone, BlastEm is an open-source emulator developed primarily for the Linux system. The project is focused on providing high cycle accuracy while still being compatible with low-end systems. This project is known to be the only emulator that can properly run the benchmarker demoscene called Overdrive 2. BlastEm also features a user-friendly UI that allows for quick and seamless ROM loading. The project also features tons of customization settings and is also available as a libretro core for various front-ends like Retroarch.
