Kega Fusion (Sega)

Kega Fusion is a closed-source high-quality and high-compatibility emulator that allows users to emulate their favorite classic Sega Genesis games.

Initially named Kega II, Kega Fusion (or simply Fusion) is a multi-system emulator that's available for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. This robust emulator is capable of accurately emulating games from Sega SG-1000, SC-3000, SF-7000, SVP, Pico, Master System, Game Gear, Genesis/Mega Drive, Sega/Mega CD, and Sega 32X gaming consoles.

This software is the last in Steve Snake's Sega line of emulators after KGen, KGen98, Kega, and Lazarus. It is a direct sequel to Kega Lazarus and features many updates, new utilities, and improvements from its predecessors. Unfortunately, Fusion is no longer being updated. And because the program is closed-source, the development stopped with its last update back in 2010. Because of this, other Sega Genesis emulators have surpassed Kega Fusion, including PicoDrive which provides 32x support and high commercial game compatibility. 

Because of the emphasis on accuracy, optimization, and efficiency, Kega Fusion can run Genesis games at a full 60 frames per second. This along with the absence of the bells and whistles of the more advanced emulators make this software a fine choice for those who just love to re-experience their favorite classic games in all their glory. As of today, Kega Fusion is still viable and recommended emulator despite being discontinued.
