DuckStation (PSX)

DuckStation is a Sony PlayStation One (PS1) console emulator that focuses on speed, playability, and stability. The developer Stenzek aims to provide an emulator that is as accurate as possible while maintaining performance and stability suitable for low-end devices. With this in mind, "Hack" options are greatly discouraged. The emulator's default configuration can handle all playable PS1 games with only some of the enhancements having compatibility issues.

Because of its active development and continued community support. DuckStation quickly became one of the best PS1 emulators that boast high compatibility and a built-in GUI. This software was also the first to address all the shortcomings of plugin-based emulators and features very little configuration necessary in order to play out of the box.

Users are required to have a "BIOS" ROM image in order to start playing games with this emulator. Make sure to use the BIOS for the region you want to emulate. Having mismatching game regions and BIOS regions may result in some compatibility issues within the game.

DuckStation also features PGXP, upscaling, texture filtering, overclocking, CHD support, a cool graphical interface, post-processing shader chains, a "fast boot" option, save states, multi-tap controller support, awesome UHD and widescreen features, Retroachievements compatibility and support, and advanced "cheat" code support among many others.
