Higan (SNES)

Higan is a multi-system emulator with an uncompromising focus on code readability and accuracy. It is one of the most cycle-accurate SNES emulators to date. This open-source emulator was initially developed by Near (Byuu), the developer of Bsnes emulator - which is also the basis of Higan. As of v110, this emulator can emulate twelve different systems and their variations, these are:

Unlike most popular SNES emulators that tended to focus on High-Level Emulation (HLE), Higan is built upon a Low-Level Emulation (LLE) core which seeks to render the original code of the classic and retro games to create an experience as accurate to the original console as possible. The only drawback with this method is that it requires a lot more computation power, and thus requires a more powerful machine.
