Mednafen (GB)

Mednafen, short for My Emulator Doesn't Need A Frickin' Excellent Name, is an open-source multi-system emulator that can run a wide array of gaming consoles including the classic Game Boy (GB), Game Boy Color (GBC), and Game Boy Advance (GBA).

Mednafen is focused on providing gamers with accurate and highly compatible emulation that's known to outperform even official emulators in accuracy tests. However, unlike most of the modern emulators which are user-friendly, Mednafen utilizes manual user input with its shell-only interface. To use Mednafen, you must first download and put the reqiured BIOS of the console you want to emulate, then drag and drop the ROM file to the executable. External GUI and third-party softwares and launchers are available to make up for software's lack of GUI.

Mednafen original cores are available for PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Virtual Boy, and TurboGrafx-16. These original cores boast higher quality, compatibility, and accuracy than other cores available elsewhere.
